Hunter Quinn Homes is a Charleston-based home builder offering new construction houses in a variety of floor plans. The company is dedicated to providing a great home buying experience, and post-closing services include 30-day and one-year follow ups. Hunter Quinn has homes in communities across the Lowcountry, providing affordable options in many locations.
What do you see as your company’s greatest opportunities in the future?
Hunter Quinn Homes still has room to grow in the Charleston MSA with anticipations of over 100 Closings for 2017. We have three large project breaking ground late ’17 and early ’18 and we will continue to grow. We strive to be a respected industry leader, a place where people want to work
What are the keys to your company’s rapid growth?
The Charleston area is a fantastic place to live and people are moving here daily. Housing is expensive and we’ve been able to provide quality homes at fair prices.
What advice can you offer someone just starting a business?
Work hard, surround yourself with the best people, strive to understand every aspect of your business, expect to wear every hat at some point, and remain tenacious.
What are your biggest challenges and how do you plan to overcome them?
The labor market, availability of land, and preservation of company culture offer the most challenges. The area’s growth has taxed the population of available skilled trades as well as the availability of viable land. Strategic land purchasing on the front end, as well as honing in on creating and maintaining mutually respectable relationships with our trades, has helped us to overcome these challenges.
What is your strategy for innovation?
The architecture of our homes is thoughtfully designed for the way families live today. Our home plans are value engineered to maximize space and give the buyers choices on how they will live in their homes. A focus on flexibility in design provides options that adheres to the customers decision of “How am I going to live in this home” as opposed to the big builder “My plan, my way” culture that offers little to no flexibility.
Does your company’s geographic location offer any specific advantages?
Historical sites, charming people, quaint beaches, and the natural splendor of the greater Charleston area are the advantages.
How many employees do you have and do you plan to add any in the coming year?
We have a team made up of 19 individuals. As we grow additional members will be added to the Hunter Quinn team.
