Cypress Creek Renewables, a company that specializes in the ownership and development of long-term solar energy projects, announced a new $115 million solar project in Orangeburg County. The new 75-megawatt facility is expected to be placed into service by 2019.

With offices in Arizona, Missouri, New York, and North Carolina, as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco, Calif., Cypress Creek Renewables strives to make solar power economically attractive to utilities and consumers. The company has an established track record of developing and constructing solar projects throughout South Carolina.

"Cypress Creek is committed to helping grow the economies of local communities by providing renewable energy for homes and businesses," says Executive Vice President of Operations Jaime Carlson. "Clean energy is an important strategy towards building energy independence in the United States, and we appreciate all the work of our utility partners, Orangeburg County and the State of South Carolina for making Project Huntley a reality."
