Tradewind Energy Establishes New Solar Project

Tradewind Energy, one of the largest independent wind and solar project development companies in the U.S., is launching a new $89 million solar production facility in Orangeburg County. Known as the Bowman Solar Project, this new facility will complement an existing $85 million solar facility in Orangeburg County, which the company announced in Feb. 2017.
Projected to come online by early 2020, the 75-megawatt (MW) project will generate the equivalent electricity required to power 15,000 homes.

"The community has been very welcoming to solar energy, and we appreciate all the work of Orangeburg County and the state of South Carolina for helping create new opportunities for economic development through the Bowman Solar Project."
