Providence Health Searches For New CEO

Apr 27, 2018 02:23PM ● By Kathleen Maris

Providence Health announced that Scott Campbell has resigned as market CEO of the Providence Health system, effective May 22. Campbell, who has served as market CEO of Providence Health since 2015, has accepted a leadership position at a medical center outside the community.

“We are grateful to Scott for his contributions to Providence Health during his tenure as market CEO,” said Victor Giovanetti, president of LifePoint Health’s Eastern Group of facilities, of which Providence Health is a part. “Scott led the organization through significant change as it transitioned ownership to LifePoint, and has been a shining representation of the hospital’s deeply rooted Catholic identity and culture. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

LifePoint Health has appointed Stephen Selzer to serve as interim market CEO, effective May 22. Selzer is an experienced healthcare administrator with more than 30 years of experience, including as interim CEO for several LifePoint facilities. Selzer most recently served as interim CEO of Providence Health’s Northeast campus, prior to Lindy White assuming the CEO post at the Northeast campus in January 2018.

“We are grateful to have Steve step into the market CEO role on an interim basis,” Giovanetti continued. “His knowledge of and familiarity with the Providence Health network and its communities will help ensure that this leadership transition is seamless.”

A national search to find a permanent candidate to lead Providence Health into the future will be launched immediately. LifePoint Health will work in partnership with the Providence Health board and will notify the community when a new leader is identified.
