Jun 27, 2018 04:31PM ● By Kathleen Maris
Fisher Communications has received the 2018 Southeast Regional Emmy Award for Public Service Advertising. Produced for SCDPS, the "Emoji DUI" campaign combined live action and animation to blend emoji beers and emoji cars with real troopers and young drunk drivers.

The campaign was shot on location in Columbia with all local crew, equipment and actors. The spots were written and directed by Kevin Fisher, with Lamar Owen as director of photography, David Anderson as editor and Jay Ellington as animator. Local actors featured in the spots included George Carruth and Dana Bolton, along with Trooper Bob Beres of the SC Highway Patrol.

The Southeast Regional Emmy Awards are presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to recognize excellence in television production for programming that is produced and airs within the region.

This was Fisher Communications' eighth Southeast Emmy win in the past decade, with three for public service advertising and five for environmental education programs.
