Jul 06, 2018 01:25PM ● By Kathleen Maris

Germany-based discount grocery chain Aldi will open its newest store at 5548 Platt Springs Road on July 26. The new location is part of a $3.4 billion investment to expand to 2,500 stores nationwide by the end of 2022.

To celebrate the store opening, Aldi will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, July 26 at 8:25 a.m., followed by its Golden Ticket giveaway offering gift cards to the first 100 customers. Shoppers can also sample Aldi-exclusive brand foods and enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of Aldi produce.

“We’re committed to providing Lexington residents with a simply smarter shopping experience,” said Krysta Cearley, Salisbury division vice president for Aldi. “When it comes to groceries, we listen to what our customers are looking for and deliver exactly what they need, at prices they love.”

The Lexington store’s modern and convenient layout focuses on what people love most: fresh food, produce, dairy and baked goods. Aldistores also feature open ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally-friendly building materials. The store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
