Oct 30, 2018 10:02AM ● By Kathleen Maris
Nucor Building Systems, a leading manufacturer of custom, pre-engineered metal building systems, is growing its existing operations in Lexington County. The company's $7 million investment is projected to create approximately 60 new jobs.

Nucor Building Systems has been operating in Lexington County since 1995 and provides sophisticated metal building solutions created exclusively for its customers' unique applications. All Nucor products are designed by in-house, registered engineers and supported by a network of more than 1,200 authorized builders serving all of North America.

To expand its Lexington County operations, located at 200 Whetstone Road in Swansea, S.C., the company will be adding 57,000 square feet to its existing facility. Hiring for the new positions is expected to begin in the coming weeks, and interested applicants should visit www.nucor.com for more information.

"This $7 million expansion will add 60 new teammates and 57,000 square feet to our plant, allowing us to meet the growing customer demand for our pre-engineered, custom metal buildings in South Carolina and across the Southeast," said J.J. McCoy, general manager. "This investment shows Nucor's ongoing and long-term commitment to our customers, to our teammates, the town of Swansea, Lexington County, and the state of South Carolina."
