The South Carolina Partnership of Disability Organizations (SCPDO) has reached a monumental milestone – celebrating the 30th Annual Disability Advocacy Day this March 6 at the SC State House.

Collectively, the 15 member organizations of SCPDO represent more than 500,000 people with lifelong disabilities and their families in South Carolina. Disability Advocacy Day is an opportunity for these individuals and their supporters to come together with one voice to legislators making budget decisions that directly affect their lifestyles and futures.

This year’s theme, “We are because I am,” celebrates the contributions made by people of all abilities. Disability is only limiting by the restrictions society places on the individual. When a person with a disability has equal access and opportunity, the individual, as well as the entire community, benefits.

The SCPDO will unveil a new look for this special occasion. Chosen from a slate of five art entries, Christine Lutfy’s design was chosen as the new logo to represent the partnership going forward.
