At its Feb. 5, 2019 meeting, the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees awarded architectural services contracts to six firms for upcoming school building improvement projects outlined in the district’s 2018–2023 building plan.

This building plan, approved by the voters as part of the district’s Nov. 6, 2018 $365 million five-year building plan (2018–2023), ensures that the district can continue to offer its students the facilities they need now and in the future.

JHS Architecture: Integrated Design, Inc., located at 1812 Lincoln Street, Columbia, SC 29201, will provide architectural services for project work at Lake Murray Elementary, Lexington High, Lexington Technology Center, the district’s Maintenance Facility, Midway Elementary, and Red Bank Elementary.

Jumper Carter Sease Architects, located at 412 Meeting Street, West Columbia, S.C. 29169, will provide architectural services for project work at Gilbert High, Pleasant Hill Elementary, Pleasant Hill Middle, and River Bluff High.

LS3P Associates, Ltd., located at 701-A Lady Street, Columbia, S.C., 29201, will provide architectural services for project work at Carolina Springs Elementary, Carolina Springs Middle, Meadow Glen Elementary, Meadow Glen Middle, Oak Grove Elementary, and the Rosenwald Community Learning Center.

Quackenbush Architects + Planners, located at 1217 Hampton Street, Columbia, S.C. 29201, will provide architectural services for project work at Gilbert Elementary, Gilbert Primary, Gilbert Middle, Lexington Elementary, and New Providence Elementary.

Since the district understands that Lexington District One residents want to keep up with the progress of the building plan, the district developed a webpage to do just that. This site enables residents to see what is currently happening at their child’s school and includes “before” photographs, the current phase taking place, photographs of that progress, etc.
