The SCGIA Elects 2019-2020 Board Of Directors

The members of the South Carolina Green Industry Association (SCGIAelected their 2019-2020 Board of Directors at the 2019 Annual Trade Show and Convention.

The Trade Show was held in Columbia at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center with more than 700 attendees and 200 exhibitors from January 29, 2019 through February 1, 2019. The Association awarded $10,000 in scholarships to students in the horticulture field.

At the Annual Business Meeting, the members voted to elect four new members to the Board of Directors: Travis Higingbottom of Lexington, Jon Brunson of Alcolu, Kirk Young of Johns Island, and Brent Crenshaw of St. Matthews.

The 2019-2020 president is Ashley McLeod of Heritage Landscape Services, Incin Gilbert. President-elect is Jim van Dijk of The Greenery, Inc. in Hilton Head. The new past president is John McMakin of McMakin Farms in Lyman. Secretary is Travis Higingbottom of WP Law in Lexington. The new treasurer is Wally Steinhauser of Wingard’s Nursery in Lexington.
