Waitr Transitions Columbia Business To Bite Squad

Waitr announced that it is integrating its Columbia area business with Bite Squad, the restaurant delivery company Waitr acquired earlier this year. The companies will combine into one operational company and will function as Bite Squad in Columbia, starting on June 5. Customers will enjoy an expanded delivery selection with more than 135 area restaurant partners on the consolidated platform, available for delivery starting at $2.99.

“We’re combining our resources and expertise under the Bite Squad brand to offer the most convenient and highest quality delivery experience possible,” said Waitr Chief Operations Officer Joe Stough. “Fans of both services - Bite Squad and Waitr - now can have even more of their favorite local restaurants delivered right to their door.”

Waitr’s partner restaurants and employee drivers will transition to the Bite Squad platform. Both brands contract with all of their restaurant partners and take a restaurant-first approach. Restaurants that offer delivery on the Bite Squad platform receive the support of a local team on the ground and easy access to real-time data. Additionally, both companies employ their drivers, who are fully uniformed and trained to enhance the overall quality of the experience between restaurant partners and customers.

“Former Waitr customers will see many of the same friendly faces at their door, delivering the same great food. Our emphasis on quality service will not change,” said Stough. “However, the drivers will be wearing a slightly different shade of green!”

To order on the Bite Squad app, customers can download Bite Squad on an iPhone or Android device. Users create an account, choose a local restaurant, browse the fully customizable menu, select menu items, and tap to submit the order with a credit card. The app can also be used for carryout orders for no charge. In addition, ordering is also available via the Web at bitesquad.com.
