Due to its success in Columbia, a local food delivery app has expanded its service to Sumter. Bite Squad, the on-demand restaurant delivery service, debuts this week in the city with a grand opening set for Friday, June 21.

The expansion comes on the heels of Bite Squad’s announcement that it has now combined local food delivery offerings with former competitor Waitr. This has enabled Bite Squad to significantly grow its delivery selection in the Columbia area, as it now has more than 135 restaurant partners from which to choose.

Bite Squad will kick off its debut in the Sumter area with a special “Free Delivery for a Year” promotion – anyone who orders during its Grand Opening Week (June 21-July 3) will receive a one-year complimentary subscription to Bite Squad Unlimited, a delivery membership that waives the delivery fee no matter how many times you order. Regular delivery fees start at $2.99.

Bite Squad expects to grow quickly in Sumter, matching the response from areas recently introduced to the app. To meet anticipated demand, the company plans to hire 100 people in the area.
