With the passage of the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017, Opportunity Zones are emerging as a potentially transformative federal economic development tool, designed to steer investment into lower-income communities. Led by Governor McMaster and in partnership with the Office of U.S. Senator Tim Scott and the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA), the state of South Carolina will present the Governor’s Opportunity Zones Summit on January 25, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Columbia. Hosted at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, the one-day Summit will feature industry experts, providing the most up-to-date, innovative thinking for business and community leaders to maximize the positive impact of Opportunity Zones.
