College marching bands to compete in Inaugural National Collegiate Marching Band Championship Bowl
Five prominent bands will compete in the inaugural National Collegiate Marching Band Championship Bowl December 1, 2018 at Charlie W. Johnson Football Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
This event will showcase the talents and skills of collegiate marching bands and recognize their unique significance in our nation’s athletic and academic life.
The competition portion of the event will be broken up into two competition categories based on marching style. As befitting some of our nation’s finest marching bands, a select group of World-Class Adjudicators will provide professional assessments and rankings for the participants. In addition to the competition and performances, the bands will also participate in the televised 65th Annual Carolina Carillon Holiday Parade Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.
The participating bands are: The University of Northern Alabama Marching Band (Florence, A.L.), Delaware State University Approaching Storm Marching Band (Dover, D.E.), The Great Talladega College Tornado Marching Band (Talladega, A.L.), Stillman College Band (Tuscaloosa, A.L.) and Benedict College Marching Tiger Band of Distinction.
Tickets are now on sale to the public ranging from $20 to $300 and can be purchased at www.marchingchamps.com. Spectators will also be able to participate cast their vote for the “People’s Choice” award. Ticket prices will go up day of the show.
