COMET and Blue Bike News Conference

On Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., The COMET will hold a press conference at the Blue Bike Station in front of Columbia City Hall to showcase the new partnership between The COMET and Blue Bike.

Columbia’s bike share system, Blue Bike SC, will grow by 8 fully functional, docked stations this year as part of the program’s expansion funded by a $250,000 Federal Transit Administration grant from The COMET. In addition to funding the station expansion, an amount of $70,000 is allocated to Blue Bike as a pilot to provide a “first mile, last mile” connection specifically for The COMET riders utilizing bike-share in the downtown Columbia area.

The event will be at the Blue Bike Station, Main Street at Laurel Street next to Columbia City Hall.

For those who take public transit, Routes 6, 11, 12, 21, 26, 28, 42, 52X, 53X, 61, 74, 82X, 84, 92X, 101, 301, 401, 501, 701, 801, and DART comes to the Transit Center, which is at the corner of Laurel and Sumter, one block away from City Hall.
