1MC Hears From Data Security Startup

Jan 26, 2018 07:49AM ● By Emily Stevenson

Columbia’s 1 Million Cups community recently welcomed Carter Edmonds of No Breaches, LLC to the stage. Carter is a USC Incubator participant working on an IT services firm dedicated to data security. No Breaches takes a business-first approach beginning with operational analysis.

Carter says No Breaches starts by determining what data a company is working with and categorizing and prioritizing that data. If the client is a law firm, client data is subject to federal laws regarding security compliance. That’s a different type of data than the law firm’s vendors list (the feds don’t make you secure the name of your coffee provider). Carter’s approach is based on his 30-plus years of experience in IT infrastructure and his expertise on multiple platforms and programs.

The 1MC community had a lot of questions about Carter’s preferred market, his pricing strategy, and his marketing and communications plans. Carter’s venture is brand new this year and he has a lot of work to do. He’s a faithful member of the 1MC community and excited to be at work  on a career-long dream of business ownership.
