As deputy director of economic and cultural development for Taiwan, Hung will offer insights into the culture, economy, impact, and relations of Taiwan in his talk, "Why Taiwan Matters." He is the guest lecturer for Dr. Nick Di Liberto’s Asian History course, but the lecture is open to anyone in the campus or neighboring community with an interest in the topic.
“We look forward to welcoming Mr. Hung to the Newberry College campus,” De Liberto said. “This will be an excellent opportunity for our students to foster cultural exchange and develop a greater understanding of business opportunities with Taiwan that exist here in South Carolina.”
South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond will attend the lecture. He was instrumental in arranging the event to allow Newberry students to interact directly with an international business leader.
