Historic Columbia announces that Megan Plott has joined the organization as the new director of development. In this leadership role, Plott will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all fundraising and membership programs of Historic Columbia.

“We are thrilled to welcome Megan to our team and know that her passion, expertise, and enthusiasm will help grow our organization,” said Robin Waites, Historic Columbia’s executive director. “With experience working both in the non- and for-profit sectors in a variety of capacities, Megan brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to developing and growing connections within the community.”

For the past 10 years, Plott has been involved with Historic Columbia as a volunteer, including serving as past president of the Palladium Society, a dynamic group of diverse professionals who support the mission of Historic Columbia through educational, social, and fundraising initiatives. In 2016, Plott was recognized with the “Rising Star Award” for her volunteer work and dedication to the organization.

Plott comes to Historic Columbia from Facility360, a solution-based facilities management company. As an account manager, Plott was responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with clients by completing construction and facilities management projects safely, on time, and under budget. Prior to joining Facility360, Plott was an associate financial advisor at Plott & French Financial Advisors, where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the boutique firm, engaged in new business development, and managed a portfolio of clients. Plott also served as an account manager with Cyberwoven and was the marketing and communications director with the YMCA of Columbia.

Plott received her B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina.
