Big Rock Natural Stone & Hardscapes Expands To Columbia

Big Rock Natural Stone & Hardscapes, the largest provider of natural stone and hardscapes in the Carolinas, recently expanded into Columbia as part of the company’s new multi-region growth strategy.

To support the expansion, Big Rock hired seasoned logistics and operations professional Dan Simmons as general manager to oversee all corporate office operations and support the logistics of expanding sales distribution throughout the Carolinas. Industry veteran Jeff Curtis has been named regional sales representative to service Big Rock’s new territories, including Columbia. In addition to Columbia, Big Rock is also expanding to Charleston, S.C., and Asheville and Charlotte, N.C.

“The new Big Rock strategic plan establishes a clear focus on accelerated growth while at the same time staying true to our tradition of providing superior customer service and offering the best product selection in the Carolinas,” said Stephanie King, president of Big Rock. “Together, these strategies add up to a clear category advantage: the best products, plus quality service to more customers in the Carolinas and, now, more choices than ever for turning business settings into showcases and houses into dream homes. We are confident that Dan’s leadership and Jeff’s product expertise will be the winning combination to support Big Rock in this next key growth phase.”

Simmons is a former business owner who also previously worked as a division general manager for a Fortune 250 firm, managing operations throughout the Northeast and Southeast. He brings sales management, logistics, and safety training experience to his new role. Simmons lives in Easley with his wife, Angela. Together, they have three children and three grandchildren.

Curtis has 12 years of experience in the hardscape industry with ICPI and NCMA certifications and experience as a manufacturer’s representative for Tremron and Techo-Bloc. In addition to his knowledge of hardscape materials, he also has an excellent understanding of the installation process for segmental interlocking pavement, permeable pavement and segmental retaining walls. Curtis lives in Matthews, N.C., with his wife, Elisa, and their two daughters.

Big Rock is headquartered in Greenville, S.C., and now serves markets throughout South Carolina and parts of North Carolina. To learn more about Big Rock, visit https://www.gobigrock.com/.
