Columbia College Broadens Offerings To Evening Program Students
Columbia College will begin offering more flexibility, including some select daytime programs and convenient housing options, to its evening program students starting Fall 2019.
Students enrolled in the evening program will now be able to take Business Administration, Accounting, Computer & Information Science, and Criminal Justice courses on campus during the day. Courses offered during the day for the evening students will be created specifically for those students allowing the college to keep the Evening and Women’s college identities intact.
The college is also offering on-campus housing for women in the extended evening program and near campus housing for men. Welcoming the evening students into a residential program will help strengthen the relationships within the community and establish a new space for social enrichment.
The new initiative will be a service to the community by giving people of all ages and stages of life more ways to start or finish a degree.
“Our goal has always been to make higher education work with our students’ lives,” said Dr. Carol Moore, president of Columbia College. “By offering daytime programs and convenient housing options, we’re able to give our students the flexibility to earn their degree on a timeline that works with their jobs, families, and lives.”
