Pesticide Disposal Events Coming in August and September

The South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) is offering South Carolina residents the opportunity to safely dispose of outdated, unusable or unwanted pesticides.

The pesticide and chemical program is open to all private, commercial and non-commercial pesticide applicators in the state, as well as homeowners. SCDA staff will be on site to monitor pesticide collection and disposal, and will have final authority on acceptance of products.

Quantities will be limited to 2500 pounds of solid and 300 gallons of liquid at no charge.

Acceptable products include herbicides, insecticides, nematicides, fungicides and similar products used in agriculture production or around the home.

Prohibited items include empty pesticide containers, rinsate, infectious, biological or radioactive materials, explosives, appliances, paint and compressed gas cylinders (metal cylinder with a valve).

A hazardous material company will be on site to properly dispose of the materials collected.

Inga Ellzey Billing Companies' Dermatology Billing Associates, a company providing outsourced billing services to dermatology practices nationwide, has added a South Carolina client, Dermatology and Laser Center of Charleston.

The dermatology practice specializes in medical, research and cosmetic services, and had been looking to outsource its medical billing for quite some time.

Its affiliation with Dermatology Billing Associates officially commenced on August 1, 2022.

“As the insurance industry continues to morph into a new ball game, the billing changes continue to be challenging and the struggle to keep up with educational resources became very taxing,” said Medical Director Dr. Todd Schlesinger.

“Our staff was very excited to meet the team at Dermatology Billing Associates and are thrilled to be able to rely on their wisdom, judgment, and expertise in dermatology.”
