Lesley Firestone, a member at Moore & Van Allen in Charleston, advises clients on a wide range of environmental and regulatory matters. Nationally and regionally ranked, she provides strategic counsel on environmental liability in a wide range of business transactions, as well as permitting, compliance, and enforcement matters. Firestone regularly represents clients before state and federal agencies and in administrative and appellate litigation, helping clients navigate complex regulations while advancing development and economic growth across South Carolina.
It’s difficult to point to a single accomplishment, but I’m most proud of my work on brownfields projects across South Carolina. Transforming blighted properties into developments that benefit communities is incredibly rewarding. My practice allows me to guide clients through complex environmental challenges in ways that support economic growth. For example, I recently helped a community hospital develop a new healthcare campus on a former brownfield site, turning an underutilized property into a vital community resource.
