I am a senior communications strategist at Flock and Rally, where I develop and implement integrated communications strategies that help our clients connect with their audiences through meaningful storytelling, strategic public relations, and community engagement. Throughout my role, I've had the opportunity to lead communications and project management efforts for clients including Experience Columbia, Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, BullStreet District, OneSpartanburg Inc., and Made with Cola Love, helping organizations strengthen their brands and deepen their community impact. My long-term goal is to become a communications leader who empowers others, mentors the next generation of professionals, and creates work that leaves a lasting impact. I believe leadership is measured not only by personal success, but by how we invest in the growth of those around us. Giving back to my community means using my skills to amplify local organizations, champion small businesses and create opportunities for meaningful connection.
Favorite Quote and Why: One of my favorite quotes is "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel" by Maya Angelou. I believe the impact we have on others extends far beyond the words we say or the work we accomplish. I’ve learned that effective communication is really about understanding people, showing empathy, and making others feel valued, not just about delivering a message.
Definition of a Successful Leader: A successful leader is someone who makes the people around them better. Leadership isn't about having all the answers or being the loudest voice in the room, instead I believe that success as a leader is measured by the positive impact you leave on others afterwards.
Advice to 18-Year-Old Self: I'd tell my 18-year-old self to stop worrying about having everything figured out. Every challenge, setback and unexpected opportunity will prepare you for something greater than you can see at the time. Stay curious and trust that consistency will take you further than perfection ever could.
