Age 29
As a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, I pursued a career in civil engineering driven by a passion for creating infrastructure and development projects that improve quality of life and strengthen the communities they serve. Today, I am a professional engineer and civil designer with Thomas & Hutton, where I support the planning, design, permitting, and construction of site development projects serving residential, commercial, institutional, health care, and community-focused facilities across the state. Through site civil design, stormwater management, and land development, I contribute to projects such as oLiv Columbia and Prisma Health Fountain Inn Medical Park, helping create lasting value for South Carolina communities. Prior to my engineering career, I served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve as a sergeant. That experience instilled the values of leadership, teamwork, adaptability, and service that continue to guide me both professionally and personally. Outside of work, I enjoy health and fitness and regularly train at Ones Ready Performance. When not at work or training, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs.
Looking forward, I am committed to supporting community growth through meaningful development projects and creating opportunities that strengthen local communities for future generations.
Favorite Quote and Why: "How you do anything is how you do everything" – T. Harv Eker. This quote resonates with me because it reflects my belief that character is revealed through the habits and choices we make every day. I believe the standards we set for ourselves in small tasks ultimately shape our success in larger ones. Whether leading a project, serving my community, or pursuing personal goals, I strive to bring the same level of commitment, discipline, and accountability to everything I do. Consistency in the small things creates excellence in the things that matter most.
Definition of a Successful Leader: Leadership, to me, is setting the example and empowering others to succeed. It means leading with integrity, taking responsibility, and consistently earning trust through actions rather than words. Whether in my career, military service, or community involvement, I believe leadership is about serving others, creating opportunities, and inspiring people to achieve more than they thought possible.
Advice to 18-Year-Old Self: I would tell my 18-year-old self to focus on doing the little things right. The habits you build, the standards you set, and the effort you give each day ultimately determine your success. Stay consistent, be dependable, and trust the process. The bigger opportunities and achievements will follow.
