Evans Management Group (EMG), the investment and management office for the Evans family and parent company of a vertically integrated portfolio of real estate-focused businesses, welcomes William Gully III as vice president of Human Resources. In this role, Gully will lead the company's human resources strategy and build scalable people programs that support EMG's continued growth across its portfolio of real estate and construction businesses.

The appointment comes as EMG continues to expand its operations across the Southeast, adding new markets, growing its portfolio of companies, and investing in the people and systems that support long-term success.

In his new role, Gully will work closely with EMG's operating companies, each a leader in its field. EMG's portfolio spans CF Evans, one of the Southeast's leading multifamily general contractors; Orange Capital Advisors, the company’s real estate development platform; Palmetto Sitework Services, a top regional site preparation contractor; and Santee Building Solutions, a trusted resource in wood-frame construction.

The group also includes SPECO Contracting, specializing in metal stud framing, insulation, drywall, and acoustical ceilings; TEC Equipment Rental, which provides equipment sales, rentals, and service across South Carolina; and Phero Trucking, delivering logistics support to EMG and its affiliates.

Reporting directly to CEO Brett Evans, Gully will partner with EMG's board and subsidiary leadership to advance the company's people strategy, with responsibility for talent acquisition, leadership development, employee engagement, organizational design, performance management, compensation, and scalable HR systems that support long-term growth.

“William has a proven track record of building HR organizations that support growth without losing sight of what makes a company successful, which is its people,” said Brett Evans, EMG CEO. “As EMG continues to grow, we need leaders who can strengthen our people strategy while preserving the culture and values that have defined our business for nearly 80 years. William's experience makes him the right person to help lead that effort.”

Gully joins EMG with more than 20 years of executive human resources leadership experience across private equity-backed, high-growth, and multi-site organizations. Most recently, he served as chief people officer for Keel Platform, where he led the integration of three manufacturing companies and more than 1,200 employees into a unified operating model. He established the company's first centralized HR organization, standardized enterprise-wide systems and policies, implemented leadership development initiatives, and strengthened employee retention and workplace safety across multiple locations.

Previously, Gully served as vice president of Human Resources for Refuel Operating Company, where he helped scale the organization from 100 to 220 retail locations and from 1,000 to 3,000 employees across five states through 12 acquisitions. During his tenure, he expanded the HR organization, led workforce integration efforts, introduced enterprise talent management and leadership development programs, and implemented initiatives that significantly reduced employee turnover.

“What stood out to me about EMG is the strength of its culture and the opportunity to support a group of businesses that share a commitment to quality, integrity, and long-term growth. I look forward to partnering with our leaders to invest in our people, strengthen the employee experience, and help position the organization for continued success.”
