The venture capital playbook is getting an NIL-era rewrite, and college athletes are getting in on the game, according to the website Front Office Sports.

It said three current Division I quarterbacks are the latest athletes to invest in The Cashmere Fund, a Nasdaq-listed venture capital fund that allows non-accredited investors to invest in VC-backed start-ups.

The players are LaNorris Sellers from the University of South Carolina, Kevin Jennings of Southern Methodist University, and Avery Johnson of Kansas State University.

Front Office Sports said the unveiling of Sellers, Jennings, and Johnson marks the continuation of a hot streak for Cashmere, which recently announced as investors the reigning NFL MVP, Josh Allen, and his teammate, Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

The media and news organization said the specific amounts the college quarterbacks (as well as Allen and Hamlin) are contributing to the fund weren’t disclosed.

They will work with The Cashmere Fund to support awareness of the fund and its portfolio companies, tout the upside potential of the venture capital asset class to their networks, and gain firsthand venture investment experience.

Jordon Rooney, CEO of Jaster Athletes, advised Cashmere on the formation of the partnership.

The Cashmere Fund (Ticker: CSHMX), an evergreen interval fund, seeks to provide long-term capital appreciation through an actively managed portfolio of private, early-stage venture capital investments.
