MUSC Health-Midlands to Open South Carolina’s First Combined Emergency, Urgent Care Facility in Columbia

Posted

MUSC Health-Midlands, in partnership with Intuitive Health, will open the state's first combined emergency and urgent care facility on Garners Ferry Road in Columbia.

The new 12,484-square-foot center will offer 24/7 access to emergency and urgent care services, on-site laboratory and imaging capabilities and accommodate EMS and ambulance arrivals.

Patients will be evaluated by emergency-trained providers and billed only for the level of care they receive. Providers will begin seeing patients at the facility on June 19.

Located in Southeast Columbia, the facility is designed to expand access to quality care closer to home.

Officials said the opening is part of a broader partnership between MUSC Health and Intuitive Health to bring additional combined emergency and urgent care facilities to communities across South Carolina, with locations under development in Florence, Summerville and West Ashley in Charleston.
