The City of Orangeburg celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its new City Hall on Wednesday, August 6, marking a significant milestone in the city’s growth and progress. Located at 1099 Russell Street, the event welcomed city officials, community leaders, local business owners, and residents to witness the beginning of a new chapter for Orangeburg.
Officials with Orangeburg said this modernized space is designed to enhance city services, improve accessibility, and foster greater community engagement. Handicap accessible entrances, expansive meeting rooms, and state-of-the-art technology will improve daily essential services.
“This is truly a historic moment for the City of Orangeburg and our residents,” said Mayor Michael C. Butler. “This project has been a labor of love with the citizens in mind. We are proud to provide a space where residents can engage with city government in a more efficient and transparent way.”
The new City Hall is a key part of Orangeburg’s ongoing efforts to enhance city infrastructure and improve the quality of life for its residents. With a focus on modernity, inclusivity, and community service, the facility is poised to become a central hub for local government functions.
