The Hampton Wildlife Fund has selected Ms. Nancy Dalton (BeBe) Harrison, of Mt. Pleasant, as the Fund’s new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2025. Ms. Harrison, currently employed by the SC Wildlife Federation, will succeed Jim Goller, Executive Director of the fund since 2003.

The Harry Hampton Memorial Wildlife Fund, Inc. (Hampton Wildlife Fund, HWF) is a 501 c3 corporation which partners with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) for the promotion of natural resources and natural resource education, benefitting wildlife, marine and other resources in South Carolina.

Ms. Harrison brings a considerable history of employment within, service to, and advocacy for wildlife, natural resources and conservation in the Palmetto State and beyond. As a former SCDNR education employee, she offers a unique understanding of the inner workings of the agency, as did her predecessor, Jim Goller.

Much of Ms. Harrison’s career has been devoted toward increasing opportunities for youth and women in fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities. While at SCDNR, she worked with the agency’s education department, founded the SC Reel Kids and Reel Art programs, among other efforts within SCDNR’s Aquatic Education, including district fishing rodeos. She later founded Angling Women, which designs customized aquatic education programs.

Ms. Harrison is a regular attendee at ICAST, the nation’s largest assemblage of suppliers and innovators in the sportfishing community, where industry leaders & emerging innovators gather to promote sportfishing commerce. Ms. Harrison is no stranger to the Hampton Fund, currently serving as a member of its Board of Directors.

Jim Goller has faithfully served in the role of Executive Director for the past 22 years after retiring from SCDNR as a 31-year state employee. “Under his leadership and guidance, the Hampton Fund has reached heights that were never imagined when the fund began” said Alvin Taylor, chairman of the Hampton Fund board. Jim currently serves as a SC Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series Tournament committee member and is owner of Technautica Marine Electronics and Electrical in his hometown of Beaufort.

The total donated to SCDNR by the Hampton Wildlife Fund over the years now stands at $4,751,960. Public education of wildlife and marine resources management and conservation is a major thrust of the fund’s purpose. Scholarships are annually awarded to SC resident students who attend SC institutions of higher learning majoring in wildlife, fisheries, forestry, biology, zoology, marine science, environmental science or related fields, law enforcement/criminal justice and journalism. Since 1995, The Hampton Wildlife Fund has awarded almost $1.2 million in scholarships to SC students.
